Welcome to Mid Week Tease!
I’m so happy to be back teasing this week! Thank you so much, Miss Bunino, for continuing to bring us together for this reading fun. Author friends, join in next week, won’t you? Check the bottom of Sandra’s post for the sign up. I hope you enjoy this snippet from the next book in the These Three Words series. This is still in WIP form, but here is the next bit from Let Me See…
“Open up so I can give you your towel,” came his voice, the one she loved because it never failed to make her smile. The hint was there, telling her he was still feeling playful and nowhere near ready to actually close his eyes and go to sleep. She’d been excited too over their first sleepover. Things had gone so well up until fifteen minutes ago when he’d let her out of his bed to make her way in the dark to his bathroom for a shower.
Drew bit down and blew out, doing everything she could not to be mean to him. “And my clothes,” she said through tight lips. “Just leave everything there on the floor. I swear, Jay. Don’t push me right now, baby. I don’t want to fight.”
A loud conk sounded. “Aw, baby. You don’t need those, do you?” His voice sounded muffled like he had his face pressed into the other side of the door. She too pressed herself against her side of the door, wishing like hell she didn’t have this hang up. She looked up and stretched her arm as far as it could go, until it was fully extended, and placed it against the moist wood. That’s where his boyish short blond curls would be if he was standing straight and tall. She twirled an imaginary curl in her fingers as they rested against the door, wishing she didn’t have to be so mad. But she did. “Come on, it’s the middle of the night. Let me in, I’ll wrap you up and carry you back to bed,” he said.
That’s my tease this week! Now off you go for more tantalizing teases from some outstanding authors!
