Welcome back to Mid Week Tease!
Picking up where I left off last week from The Never Seeker. I’d like to thank you all for leaving such encouraging comments to keep working on this. You all rock my socks. Sandra Bunino, you send me to the moon. Thanks for organizing us each week for the tease. Mwah!
She was going to pass out, the swallows of air weren’t enough. Not understanding how that worked from within a dream, Drew waited for more darkness to take her, deeper even than the confines of the nightmare.
“Focus on something else,” the ghost man demanded of her.
“Do it. Something isn’t right,” he said in his shaky voice.
I need him, she thought in her pounding, woozy head. I need Chase.
“Go, I will wake up,” she fought to say each word.
“No, I made a promise. I won’t break it.”
She could barely hear the ghostly man as dark eyes, dark hair and a dark yet calming quiet finally snatched her from this terrifying experience.
A second later, she was in his strong arms. She was not feeling very well but at least she was alive, intact and grateful. For now.
“Chase,” she said, just barely. Something about his presence stole bits of her and she had yet to find them and claim them back for herself. He probably had no idea. Always so serious. The truth was she liked him that way.
