Welcome to the first annual Six Pack Stud-A-Thon Blog Hop where bashful introvert authors like me get to give GIGANTIC shout outs to their favorite cover models! This is a huge first for me but I feel very confident because I have a wonderful special guest who I know you all will love. You may recognize him from romance covers such as The Pirate Next Door, Bound By Night, or Coming Undone. I’ve yet to land him on one of my books but you should see how tightly my fingers are crossed for the future.
When I asked Alex if I could feature him and use some of his pics for the Stud-A-Thon, he gave me a great big thumbs up because he’s not just gorgeous, he’s got a great sense of humor and is an obvious good sport. So I visited his Facebook page which I highly encourage you to do as well and found a few perfect photos to go along with this very short story. Enjoy! And be sure to “Like” Alex on Facebook here!
GIVEAWAY INFO: To celebrate, I’m giving away a sweet little romance reading gift that includes a Lush bath bomb, a print copy of my contemporary romance-Sidewalk Flower, and a Sin’s Flower keychain. (Physical prize open to US mailing addresses only but should a lovely international reader win, I would happily substitute an e-copy of my book!)
The Couch starring Alex Geerman
She wandered out from her room, missing him. Her beautiful man. There he was, on the couch.
“Baby? You can come back to bed,” she said and rubbed her arms.
“Hey.” He scooted back so she could sit down. “No, I can’t.”
“Babe, that’s not the way it works. You put me here so I have to stay here the whole night.”
“Is this some sort of punishment? Are you trying to get back at me for making you sleep out here?” she asked.
“No, no. Of course not. Babe, I did something that hurt you and I honestly had no idea when it happened. I can’t be doing that to you. We’re still so new at this and if I’m going around hurting you and not even realizing it, that’s a big deal.”
“So you refuse to come back to bed with me?”
“Yeah, I guess that’s what I’m saying.”
“Are you serious?”
She started to scoot off back to their room alone. But her heart squeezed, stopping her.
“Well, can I stay here on the couch with you?”
“Babe, what’s the matter? I’m a big boy, I can handle being on the couch for one night. Trust me, I don’t plan to make the same mistake again. Look, I know this sucks, but I’m proud of you. You surprised me by standing your ground. Don’t take that back.”
Her beautiful man didn’t understand and she didn’t want him to. Ever. She hadn’t slept alone since that night. She ignored him and curled up at the foot of the couch.
